I’m a professional full-time photographer. I did have a previous full-time career but photography has always been a big part of my life - I love creating images but my real passion is for people.

When the opportunity presented itself I fully immersed myself in my new career 8 year ago and strived to deliver the best possible service to my clients.

Now today I sit with a thriving photography business, the recipient of several awards, and my own office premises and fully functional studio here in Dumfries, and regularly working across the UK.

Every day I am inspired by the many fascinating people that I meet through my work. To have a little insight into people’s lives and to be trusted with capturing precious memories from their lifes or to capturing their key shots to promote their business, brand and product is an incredible privilege and lots of fun!

I’m Edinburgh born and bred (the informative years – so they say) but with a move to Southwest Scotland (Moffat) as a young teenager I fell in love with the region many years ago. I moved here to Dumfries in 1985 and to this day I still live in Dumfries with my wife and Brodie my Westie. The children are up and away now as they say, but never actually that far away with grandchildren on the scene now.

When I’m not with a client, you’ll usually find me at my home office or at my Studio premises in Dumfries Town Centre. If I’m not doing that I’m babysitting or out walking Brodie. When I do have some rare time off, you’ll find me heading for a live music event.

I know being in front of the camera isn’t easy, (I hate having my photo taken) so when I’m with my clients I keep things nice and relaxed. No awkward poses or unnatural expressions, I promise!

I pride myself on the relationships I’ve built with my clients, and on the fact that so many come back to me again and again. Whether you come to me for wedding photos, family portraits or business photography, I want you to enjoy your session and really love your photos.
